HOLDS HER OWN

In this thrilling painting award-winning graphic artist Keith Burns brings to life the skills required of both Lancaster pilot and gunners as they outwit and successfully destroy an enemy Bf110.

ONE MORE CLOSE TO HOME

In his exciting painting 'One More Closer To Home', award-winning artist Keith Burns illustrates just how dangerous tangling with an Eighth Air Force Fortress could be as he pilot of a Bf109 gets more than he bargained for whilst trying to intercept a B-17G of the 351st Bomb Group heading home to Polebrook.

PREPARING FOR ACTION

Keith’s poignant and atmospheric piece serves as a lasting tribute to all those who flew this mighty aircraft in combat during WWII and the ground crews who so valiantly supported them.

RED TWO

Keith’s dramatic painting takes us to an incident over occupied northern France during the hectic fighting in that summer of 1944 as Squadron Leader John Plagis, Commanding Officer of 126 Squadron and former Malta veteran, notches up yet another impressive victory, this time over a Messerschmitt Bf109.

TESTING TIMES

Keith, who joined the Military Gallery in 2020, is currently illustrating the Ladybird Expert History series of the Second World War written by leading historian James Holland. His graphic portrayal, Testing Times, depicts Sergeant Don Kingaby carrying out last minute checks on his Mk.I Spitfire at the height of the Battle of Britain.

THE BATTLE OF CAMBRAI, NOVEMBER 1917

Few images could capture the sense of occasion that morning than Keith’s haunting painting. With this graphic depiction of the desolation found on the mud-soaked battlefield of Cambrai, he superbly portrays the crews of two Mark IV tanks of ‘C’ Battalion Tank Corps, supported by elements of the Essex Regiment and the Canadian 5th Cavalry Division, capturing a brief respite from the fighting near a fortified position known as ‘Bleak House’ on the first morning of the battle.

THE GREAT ESCAPE

Keith's graphic piece depicts the moment an eagle-eyed sentry raises the alarm having spotted escapees making a stealthy dash to freedom from the entrance of ‘Tunnel Harry’.

TOO MANY HEAVIES

In a dramatic attempt to stem the tide of US Eighth Air Force heavy bombers, a lone Fw190A-8 makes a daring but unsuccessful pass through a formation of B-17Gs from the 91st Bomb Group.
