DAY OF THE RISING SUN

DAYS OF THUNDER

Richard Taylor commemorates the valiant contribution of the 78th Fighter Group with a fine new rendition showing P-47D Thunderbolts departing Duxford en route for the north coast of France, and a low-level strafing mission.

DAZZLING DISPLAYS

Beautifully crafted in delicate pencil incorporating the dramatic use of colour, Richard's three drawings have been united into a single triptych. Faithfully reproduced as a stunning, limited-edition giclée fine art print, every copy is issued personally signed by artist Richard Taylor and hand numbered.

DESTINY DAWNS

In his stunning drawing Richard brings to life events at one of those airfields in the dwindling hours leading up to their departure for destiny. The scene is set at RAF Upottery in Devon as men of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division's famous 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment begin to assemble alongside the C-47s of the 439th Troop Carrier Group that will carry them to Normandy as part of Operation Albany - the seizure of the causeways leading to Utah beach before securing the area closest to Omaha beach.

DEVOTION TO DUTY

A Lancaster from 61 Sqn, heavily damaged by German night-fighter attacks, heads to Dusseldorf during a bombing mission on the night of 3 November 1943. Although badly wounded, pilot Bill Reid and his crew pressed on to bomb their target before returning home. For his courage and devotion to duty Reid was awarded the Victoria Cross.

DUAL VICTORY

Richard Taylor brings to life a spectacular dogfight over Eisenach on 24 March 1945 when the doughty Clyde East, returning from a recce over Schweinfurt and with photos already in the can, takes on a group of six Me109's.
