ATTACK ON THE ARIZONA

To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the infamous attack that brought America into the Second World War, and to remember those Americans who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, award-winning artist Keith Burns has given us Attack on the Arizona – a dramatic painting capturing the heart-stopping moment when Japanese Aichi D-3A1 dive-bombers launched their devastating attack on the Arizona.

BOMBER BOYS

The three pieces forming Keith Burns’ moving triptych Bomber Boys pay a fitting tribute to the thousands of RAF ground crew whose often untold but dedicated duty did so much to keep the aircraft of Bomber Command flying.

CO-OPERATION

To win the Guild of Aviation Artists’ prestigious “Aviation Painting of the Year” is no easy task. The award, sponsored by BAE Systems plc – one of the largest defence and aerospace companies in the world – involves the very best aviation paintings submitted to the Guild’s Annual Exhibition, judged by an independent panel of experts. Winning the award is a monumental task, but in 2016 that is exactly what Keith did with this masterpiece, CO-OPERATION.

FINAL PREPARATIONS

Keith’s memorable piece serves as a tribute to all those who took part in the raid, from the hard-working groundcrew, to the fearless aircrew.

HEADING OFF OMAHA

Keith’s ability to capture the power and drama of a scene never fails to win the imagination and this dramatic piece is no exception. The artist’s award-winning talent takes us to the sandy bluffs overlooking Omaha Beach shortly after D-Day. The foreshore that only days before had witnessed chaos and bloody carnage, is now abuzz with action as American armored forces disembark from their beached Tank Landing Ships and head inland to support colleagues heavily engaged in bitter fighting to dislodge German units in northern Normandy.

HOLDS HER OWN

In this thrilling painting award-winning graphic artist Keith Burns brings to life the skills required of both Lancaster pilot and gunners as they outwit and successfully destroy an enemy Bf110.

ONE MORE CLOSE TO HOME

In his exciting painting 'One More Closer To Home', award-winning artist Keith Burns illustrates just how dangerous tangling with an Eighth Air Force Fortress could be as he pilot of a Bf109 gets more than he bargained for whilst trying to intercept a B-17G of the 351st Bomb Group heading home to Polebrook.

PREPARING FOR ACTION

Keith’s poignant and atmospheric piece serves as a lasting tribute to all those who flew this mighty aircraft in combat during WWII and the ground crews who so valiantly supported them.

RED TWO

Keith’s dramatic painting takes us to an incident over occupied northern France during the hectic fighting in that summer of 1944 as Squadron Leader John Plagis, Commanding Officer of 126 Squadron and former Malta veteran, notches up yet another impressive victory, this time over a Messerschmitt Bf109.
