SABRE SWEEP

Already internationally renowned for his highly-detailed depictions of World War Two aircraft using a mixture of graphite with colour highlights on antique buff paper, Richard's intricate study of these F-86 Sabres further enhances his reputation as one of the world's foremost aviation artists.

SAGAN - THE GREAT ESCAPE PRINT AND BOOK PORTFOLIO

The Great Escape was perhaps the most daring escape attempt of the war, involving the mass breakout of more than 200 Allied Airmen by digging three long tunnels (nicknamed Tom, Dick, and Harry), an audacious feat of tunnelling that would be long and dangerous. Richard Taylor's superb drawing, completed in his trademark graphite and paint combination, recreates the scene as escaped POW's, dressed in plain clothes, mix with local civilians in an attempt to catch the early morning train and make their bid for freedom.

SAINTE MERE EGLISE - the drawing edition

St. Mère Église - the first town to be liberated by Allied soldiers on the morning of June 6th, 1944, when, at 6.30 men of the Airborne Rangers parachuted into the town.

SKY TROOPERS

Widely regarded as one of the foremost pencil artists in the aviation art industry, Richard has created this inspiring drawing to add to his growing repertoire. Already internationally renowned for his stunning depictions of WW1 and WW2 scenes, he has excelled with this stunning piece, unbelievably his first-ever composition of Hueys in Vietnam.

SPITFIRE SCRAMBLE

Richard's exquisite cameo Spitfire Scramble depicts a typical daily scene at Westhampnett as Flight Lieutenant 'Mickey' Mount, flight commander with 602 Squadron, leads the final section of Spitfires away from the base in a frantic scramble to intercept another large Luftwaffe force heading towards the Royal Navy's main base at Portsmouth and radar stations on the Isle of Wight in August 1940.

STALAG LUFT III - THE GREAT ESCAPE

Reproduced on stunning archival paper as a Giclée edition and limited to just 76 copies worldwide, each is dedicated to one of the 76 prisoners who made it out of the camp that night. Every copy is individually printed with a specific number and issued mounted to include a small sample of sand recovered from the tunnel site together with an imprint taken from one of the original counterfeit Wehrmacht Eagle stamps engraved by a prisoner and used in the forging of travel documents.

STORMBIRDS IN BAVARIA

Richard Taylor's impressive piece titled 'Stormbirds in Bavaria' depicts two of the last working Me262 jet fighter-bombers from II./KG54 as they emerge from hiding within the trees and are prepared for one of their final missions of the war. The roar of jet engines, however, will soon be heard no more. Final surrender is near and tranquillity will once again descend on this beautiful Alpine pasture.

STRAGGLER AT DAWN

Richard Taylor's inspired piece sees the straggler with just a few more miles to go before the pilot gets his Lancaster safely back on the ground and, after her ground crew have worked their magic, the bomber will soon be in the air again, ready to fight another day. Adding great provenance to this poignant and atmospheric release, the prints are personally autographed by distinguished World War Two veterans who flew with RAF Bomber Command, creating a unique and exclusive collector's piece.

TACTICAL SUPPORT

Richard Taylor's evocative new painting recreates the scene over Pegasus Bridge shortly after D-Day as a pair of P-38 Lightnings thunder inland in support of the advancing allied armies. Below, signs of the recent action are still plainly visible as trucks and their exhausted drivers hasten back to the beach-head to collect reinforcements.
