HOT STUFF - ROLLING
In memory of the last fixed-wing carrier launch we are delighted that not only has Robert allowed us to reproduce this historically important work as a limited edition print, but each copy has been endorsed by the pilot of the Phantom on that memorable occasion.
|
PRE-FLIGHT BRIEFING
Completed a number of years ago in Richard's 'trademark' style of graphite, wash and coloured highlights, over that time two highly-regarded World War Two veterans have personally signed and authenticated the edition, each having flown the amazing Mosquito in combat during the war.

CAPTAIN EDDIE
In an exquisite tribute to America's World War I Ace of Aces, Richard Taylor has created yet another inspirational drawing to add to his growing list of highly-collectible masterworks. Deservedly respected for his skilful technique of incorporating pencil and colourwash highlights, Richard furthers his repertoire of World War I subjects with Captain Eddie, a superb depiction of Rickenbacker alongside the Spad XIII fighters of his 94th 'Hat-in-the-Ring' Aero Squadron on the Western Front in 1918.

CHANGE TO THE FLIGHT PLAN
Faithfully reproduced as a high quality giclée fine art print on textured velvet paper, the historical importance of this extremely limited edition is highlighted by the inclusion of the rare and hard-to-come-by original autograph of the legendary Ace depicted. Alongside are the original autographs of a further four eminent Luftwaffe veterans who flew Stukas during the war, including one of Rudel's wingmen.

THE ASSAULT ON BENOUVILLE BRIDGE
Faithfully reproduced as a fine art limited edition print and restricted to just FIFTY copies worldwide, each has been personally signed by artist Richard Taylor before being hand numbered. Adding great historical significance, every print is issued mounted to full conservation standards to include museum quality reproduction shoulder titles of both the Glider Pilot Regiment and the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry, PLUS the original pencil autographs of Second World War veterans who took part in the operation, representing both units.

PEGASUS DAWN
Simon Smith's masterful piece Pegasus Dawn portrays the scene a few days later at the Bénouville Bridge, later renamed 'Pegasus' after the British 6th Airborne's flying horse emblem. Now reinforced by other units, including commandos, the British are in full control of the area, allowing free movement over the canal and river. Overhead Mk.IX Spitfires from 340 (Free French) Squadron RAF, part of 145 Wing, Second Tactical Air Force, provide fighter cover across the area.

JASTA LEADER
Robert's outstanding masterwork drawing Jasta Leader transports us back in time to the pinnacle of Udet's career when he commanded Jasta 4. In it we see Udet heading out towards the front in the late summer of 1918 flying a distinctive Siemens Schuckert D.III, its fuselage emblazoned with 'Lo!', his sweetheart's nickname.
|
BOMBER BOYS
The three pieces forming Keith Burns' moving triptych Bomber Boys pay a fitting tribute to the thousands of RAF ground crew whose often untold but dedicated duty did so much to keep the aircraft of Bomber Command flying.
