STALAG LUFT III - THE GREAT ESCAPE
Reproduced on stunning archival paper as a Giclée edition and limited to just 76 copies worldwide, each is dedicated to one of the 76 prisoners who made it out of the camp that night. Every copy is individually printed with a specific number and issued mounted to include a small sample of sand recovered from the tunnel site together with an imprint taken from one of the original counterfeit Wehrmacht Eagle stamps engraved by a prisoner and used in the forging of travel documents.

Richard Taylor's impressive piece titled 'Stormbirds in Bavaria' depicts two of the last working Me262 jet fighter-bombers from II./KG54 as they emerge from hiding within the trees and are prepared for one of their final missions of the war. The roar of jet engines, however, will soon be heard no more. Final surrender is near and tranquillity will once again descend on this beautiful Alpine pasture.

Robert Taylor, the master of aviation art, portrays the Me262s of III./JG7 in his powerful painting as a tribute to this revolutionary aircraft. He captures a scene during the final weeks of the war as Leutnant Hermann Buchner, by now one of the most famous jet Aces and recipient of the coveted Knight's Cross, joins his fellow pilots of III./JG7 as they climb to intercept a large formation of American bombers having just left their base at Parchim. Below them the tranquillity of the meandering River Havel, flowing gracefully through the countryside west of Berlin, is in stark contrast to the deadly encounters that will soon take place overhead.
